Fall Decor

Harvesting some fall charm to the dining room table. Just to offset the chaos going on every where else in my home right now.

You know how it is, when you have several projects going on and a To Do List as long as a tractor trailer, a woman needs some calm.

A release of energy or an outlet for her creativity.

For me, it's in my dining room. It's calm and cool in here.

Plus there isn't any dust or debris like in my hallway. I am in the middle of two projects right now inside. One of which spawned the other.

I started purging my linen closet to get it re-organized and even what I would call "Pinterest worthy". Well I kept seeing how dated the hallway looked. The beat up paint job, the 90's tract lighting we installed when we first moved in, the hollow core doors which have yellowed with age.

Oh and the niche....which I tried to update with pallet wood shelves and backing it also with pallet wood. Well, it is no longer there. So I am in deep today taping and mudding the hole in the wall where the niche was. Updates to come soon I promise!

So it is nice to walk into one room where I can just have an outlet to celebrate Fall.

Not the fact that I will be dusting every piece of furniture for weeks after we get through all the drywall sanding.

I grabbed an old box I have had for a couple of years and plopped some dried hydrangeas inside. The dishes are my everyday bone china.

If you ever have the chance to buy bone china I HIGHLY recommend it. We eat a lot of meat in this house and these dishes hardly show any knife or scuff marks on them from silverware. Best money I ever spent and they really weren't that expensive. I paid 60 bucks for a service for 4 at Bed Bath and Beyond about 5 years ago, maybe 6? If you want to see them up close and with more detail let me know.

Everything on this table I already had with the exception of the real pumpkins, squash and gourds. I picked those up at my local grocer.

I just tried to keep it quick, simple and brightly colored.

We are supposed to be getting back down in the 70's mid week, so if I need a break from Mr. Hallway job, I will definitely head outside and get some much needed yard work done. I have some perennials in pots that need transplanting in the ground if I want to have them next year, and I lost another arborvitae due to my laziness.

More on that later.

I just want to keep things calm, peaceful and full of Fall right now.

Have a good day!
