Decorating the Master Bedroom & Hallway for Christmas

Decorating the Bedroom & Hallway for Christmas

Decorating our master bedroom always seems like it's on the short end of the stick. As I get older and find myself retreating to this space more and more for relaxation, I am finding it a lot easier to spend some money here.

I've also figured out where to spend it and where to save it. You begin to learn as you age what you really like and what you can skimp on. For example; my tree is a flocked white Walmart tree bought last year. The industrial metal salvaged box however, was not purchased at a discount store.

And I love it!

I love salvaged pieces I can use as multi-purpose. I know I can put them to good use. Yes I bought 2. I went back to the store a week later and bought #2. I don't know why I just followed my instincts.

It's counterpart is holding some blankets underneath a chalk painted vintage sewing machine I got for literally only paid ten bucks for by our bed.

Christmas Tree

I put grapevine on this tree too and it really pops off a white flocked tree. I almost didn't add any ornaments to this tree.

Our bed got the usual gift bags as pillow shams. If you're new to my blog, I bought these last year for five dollars each. The link I had no longer works, but I found a comparable. I am not an affiliate and I won't make any $$ off of these if you buy them. Unfortunately they are almost $7 each, which is still about ten bucks cheaper them any HomeGoods I've seen them in and will fit standard and queen sized pillows. The really fluffy ones. FYI.

Christmas

The tree got some birds nests I had in my decor closet, plus every brown feather I could find in there too. I bought some real red ornaments and what I mean by that is they're not plastic. Last year I started adding red into some of our holiday decor.

Christmas

Greg inserted a milk crate into my salvaged box and then cut to fit a piece of wood and we put the tree on top off that and I wrapped it with a old white thrift store tablecloth.

For the hallway I did a white and green motif. After I painted the hallway with 4 coats of a bright white paint. The signs are from Kirkland's and all the wreaths are ones I have had for a couple of years now.

Up next I will be sharing our front and back yard outdoor christmas lights and then for the finale the living room.

I hope you stay tuned for that...

Merry Christmas!
