Hi Everyone!
The countdown to Christmas is on! I have been checking my phone and all the to do lists for the holidays and our upcoming vacation to Florida. First, I wanted to share my dining room with you and the how I decorated it using blacks, reds, browns and golds.
I also have a quick DIY for old artwork in here to make sure you don't miss it!
All the décor you'll see in here has been collected through the years from various department stores and thrift stores. The only thing that's new are the wreaths on my table under the Santa plates. Those were from Hobby Lobby.
I did a Santa theme this year for my first table. I used my Z Gallerie purple glass chargers, with a simple white bone china plate followed by a 6 or 8 inch faux wreath and a thrift store Santa dessert plate. I admit I had to let the thought marinate a bit. Using purple and red together, for some reason, just felt odd in the beginning. I can't explain it. but it works!
After letting it hang there for a few days I got the idea to tape and staple when necessary metal snowflakes and some twinkle battery operated (also on a timer) twinkle lights.
I absolutely love it!
I wound some 1" rope down the table with more timer battery operated lights, placed a few votives and some christmas butter knives, added my favorite red goblets and fell in love with the color on this table.
I took a few shots of this room at night, hoping to capture the glow I get when everything turns on....
I hope to get pics of the outside decorations up before my vacation, so please stay tuned. I did a video as well on this room, you can click here Dining Room Video to go watch that if you are like me and enjoy youtube videos.
Also, just a quick note. My Rustic & Refined facebook page is down for good. When FB hackers tried to steal $$ from my personal account they took that page away from me as well. I will not be putting it back up. It was a real eye opener for me when it happened.
It's like paying to build my house on someone else's land. I won't do that again, so email is going to be the best way to follow me if you like updates on what I am up to!
Merry Christmas!

Looks adorable, Christine! What time will dinner be served? Lol!
I like your purple & red together! It reminds me of a good friend who wore those colors together back in the 80s, and I've embraced them together ever since. I can still remember her outfit. 😊
Love the black chalkpainted backdrop with lights on that end wall.
I may be slow to catching up, but I'm certainly enjoying my downtime now. Hope your vacation was/is wonderful (can't tell if you're back yet or not).
