DIY Wainscoting using Galvanized Metal

Do It Yourself Industrial / Modern Wainscoting using metal and wood

This Wainscoting Do It Yourself Project

really made an impact on how bright the backdoor entryway is looking right now.

And it was inexpensive

aka cheap!
If you don't count the new light switch or my coat hooks? The cost was less than $50.

That stuns me, so I have to say it again

Less than fifty bucks!

Please look at the new light switch.

Please!

I spent more on that thing a ma bob than a pair of sandals, so having people notice it makes me feel justified in the cost of new switches and a new cover.

Replacing the switches cost almost as much as the wainscoting.

Ironic? I'd say so!

The coat hooks were actually found on clearance at Home Depot. I went to buy the supplies needed to make a 5 foot long piece to hang coats, hats and leashes on, but seeing these?

I put the $45 dollars worth of "stuff" back and paid $25 for four already made coat hooks. All they needed was a fresh coat of spray paint.

I am still debating hanging a large picture above the hooks to really show off how tall the wall is here.

But I am still in decision making mode.

Which means I have no clue even after 3 days of staring at it.

I'm hoping now that DIY season is upon us my local Restore will amp up its inventory on light fixtures, so I can replace this one.

I almost resorted to going to Walmart (and anyone who knows me knows I loathe that store and only use it as a last resort) to buy hula hoops.

I had an idea that if I bought hula hoops and cut the circles and made an Orb, and then painted it and place it around the current fixture?

It might look similar to an industrial fixture found and Restoration Hardware. But then the other side of my brain screamed "Hair brained idea", just have patience.

So this is me

But I admit, no new fixture and no artwork, it is looking much better for a back door entryway!
